Stamp PDFs for ISO 9001 Document Control — Without Uploading Them

ISO 9001 clause 7.5 and AS9100 both demand the same thing in practice: anyone picking up a document must be able to tell at a glance whether it is the controlled current revision, an uncontrolled print, a draft awaiting approval, or an obsolete copy retained for reference. The traditional fix is a rubber stamp and a printer. This tool replaces that loop — it writes CONTROLLED COPY, UNCONTROLLED COPY, DRAFT, OBSOLETE, APPROVED or your own text onto every page of a PDF, entirely inside your browser. The file is read locally, stamped locally and saved locally. Nothing is uploaded, which is exactly what your document-control procedure requires when the PDF is a customer drawing under NDA or a proprietary work instruction.

Where each stamp fits

How to stamp a PDF

  1. Drop the PDF onto the zone above (or click to browse).
  2. Pick a stamp preset, or choose Custom and type your own text (up to 40 characters).
  3. Choose placement — a large translucent diagonal watermark, or a small opaque top-right header that stays clear of the drawing field.
  4. Set opacity, switch on the date line if your procedure requires a stamped date, and click Stamp PDF. The stamped copy downloads as yourfile-stamped.pdf; the original is untouched.

Diagonal watermark or header stamp?

Use the diagonal watermark for status that must be impossible to miss — OBSOLETE across an old drawing, DRAFT across an unapproved procedure. It is sized to the page width and rendered translucent so dimensions and notes stay readable underneath. Use the top-right header for working documents: a compact CONTROLLED COPY mark with the issue date, exactly where a QA stamp would land on paper, without covering the title block.
